We did actually celebrate the 4th of July...

Even though it has taken me a couple of days to post about it!

We had a lot of fun, and it spanned most of the weekend. Jay was off on Friday and we were basically lazy bums that day other than a couple of errands we had to run, and then that night went over and grilled out with Bumpy (Jay's dad). After we ate we went out and had an impromptu photo shoot. Bumpy is a wonderful photographer and we are very blessed to have many great photos of our family thanks to him! We had the kids up way past bedtime, but it was a lot of fun.

On Saturday the actual holiday, Jay spent most of the day outside clearing the back of our lot, getting ready for the fence we are going to be getting soon, yippee! Then that afternoon we went back to Bumpy's (and Mimi's too, but she was out of town), and played in the pool for a while and grilled out, and then hung out in hopes of seeing some of the neighbors fireworks...we waited and waited and waited....we played out on the playset, walked through the field to the neighbors that were having a huge party and danced by the fence...walked through the yard where we got married and reminisced...all while trying to keep 2 very tired babies from breaking down (oh and one super tired mama too...I think I was the tiredest of all) and just when I decided I couldn't take it anymore, they started the show! So we did finally get to see some pretty fireworks before heading home.

All in all it was a fun but tiring weekend and we paid for it with grumpy children on Sunday, but we are back to normal today.
