I'm not even really sure when it happened...it was just there one day, a very important part of our lives. It comforts hurts, and is a best friend, and bed buddy...it is Yah Yah!
Or lovie, as we have called her for about the past 2 years...until just recently when Annalee renamed her...we have no idea where the name Yah Yah came from, but she is most definitely Yah Yah...

And she (I call it a she...it is pink after all) is Annalee's most beloved possession. A lot of kids have a comfort item, and this is Annalee's.No matter what Annalee is doing , you can bet Yah Yah is somewhere close by, and when she can't find her, she walks through the house saying "yah yah...are you???"

We do not take Yah Yah out of the house for fear of losing her somewhere. This happened to my nephew Adam when he was about her age...they took Teddy to the mall, and that was all she wrote, he was never to be found again...very heartbreaking...
We have also considered buying a duplicate as a back up just in case, but of course, they are no longer producing them, but you can buy one on ebay for low low price of $50....which is total extortion as it is an $8 item, and I think the people selling them at that price are the devil, because they know desperate people who's little one's have lost there "yah yah's" would pay just about anything to for a replacement...it's very sad...so alas, yah yah doesn't leave the house, and she only get washed occasionally in hopes of preserving her, as she is looking a little ratty...
She really is quite disgusting, permanently stained along the edges where Annalee rubs over and over, missing an eye, and she has a permanent smell that washing just doesn't get out...but we love her just the same, and we will never be abe to remember these early years with Annalee with out thinking of Yah Yah...

He still won't walk on the deck...
I think this is what's called "turn tail and run"

Guess I'll be nice now and let him out the front door...
Just wanted to share a few funny things from the past 24 hours around here...
Last night around 10:30 I went in to check on Annalee, make sure she was breathing, covered up, etc...I had to go get my camera and risk waking her up for this...can I just say thank goodness for safety rails! Could she BE any closer?? (sorry channeling Chandler Bing there for a second...)
This morning, Annalee's idea of playing with Jude...she puts toys on him, around him, wherever they will stay put...

Then, this afternoon my friend Caroline and her precious baby boy Duncan came for a visit, and we were sitting in the living room chatting, and I knew that I had not seen or heard from Annalee in a few minutes, and then she comes walking in the room like this...those are her pants on the floor...

Don't ask me...I don't know...
And yes, that is what my house pretty much looks like on a daily basis...
And yes, I just learned how to do the arrow thing and got a little happy with it...
This weekend we bit the bullet and moved Annalee out of the crib and into a Big Girl Bed! (thanks Aunt Dana!) We went on Friday night to get a mattress for it, and by the time we got it set up , it was nearly 10 pm! Way past baby girl's bed time. But she absolutely loved it!
Doesn't she look tiny??

But we can tell she really loves it...

She has done really well, she has gotten up a few times, she'll knock on her door from the inside and say "mama?" "daddy?" or she will play with her toys or even clop around in my shoes that I left in there (like last night) but it has not been the hair pulling, fit throwing, kicking and screaming, gnawing and gnashing of teeth that I was afraid it would be! I think she was really ready.
And she does not seem to care one iota that Jude now has her crib and changing table in his room... She never ceases to amaze me.
And we are all sleeping better for it!
And now I'm really hoping that when we are in a good routine with it, I will be able to sneak in there at nap time and curl up next to her and just cuddle with her for a few minutes, and hold her like I haven't since she was just weeks old, and breath in her little girl smell, and feel her little soft and squishy body close to mine without the squirming and protesting I get normally....ahhhhh...I can dream can't I???
It was a beautifull day here today! So I decided to take Annalee out and do some planting. We had bought a few plants this weekend that are specifically for planters, so that we can grow them on the porch! I had originally wanted to do strawberries, because Annalee loooooves strawberries, but we found out we missed our strawberry window, I was quite peeved and disappointed, but I've moved on...(sort of ;)) So we planted a few tomato plants, some flat leaf parsley, mint and radishes.
Anyway, she had a blast! She loves playing in the dirt. But she doesn't quite get the whole plant part, and right after we got the first tomato plant in she walked over and jerked it right out of the soil! It was pretty funny, and by the time we were done, we were covered in dirt! it was all over our clothes, under or finger nails and in our hair (Annalee really like throwing the dirt up in the air), oh and she played with her first caterpillar! (Although I was afeared for it's life!)

Oh and Jude was there too! :)
