I really just still can't believe my baby is 3...and the oldest...of 3...it's crazy...
She had a really fun and awesome birthday. I was really worried in the months leading up to Ezra birth, that I wouldn't be able to put much of a party together, and then I found these invitations:
And they were perfect, since Annalee has been taking dance this year! We went with a dance theme, and made this pull apart cake of 47 cupcakes, decorated (by her sweet daddy, because I panicked and couldn't even do it!!) to look like the invitation...

And then I had my friend Kami make this very special Tu Tu, just for her!! I love it! it turned out so super cute, I wish I had one for myself!!

So party day finally came around (the day before her actual birthday) and all of our family came and her BFF , Kate (who shares her same birthday) was able to come too! That's Kate with her mommy Laura on the right. And yes, I made that super cute birthday banner (thank you Laura!)

And so soon it was timeto sing Happy Birthday and blow out the candles...errr...candle!

And then it was present time...a theme developed with out anyone realizing it...
There were lots of dress up clothes...
Once Annalee got to that Cinderella dress, she wore it for the rest of the day...and the day after and the day after and the day after....
She had such a great time, and I was very pleased with how it all turned out!
So on her actual birthday, we sang Happy Birthday over and over all day, and she got to pick anything she wanted for each meal, cereal for breakfast, PB&J for lunch and Hot Dogs and Mac & cheese for dinner! It was the best she has eaten in months!!
Then after dinner we sang again

and she got to blow her candle out again,

and then open presents AGAIN!!
And of course Judezilla was there to destroy everything in his path :)

she got lots of Bubble paraphernalia

And another dress up dress...
and Shoes!!!

and then the biggie....her sweet little pink Trike!!

And that night as I put her to bed I got all teary eyed thinking about how 3 years before I had been putting her down to sleep in her little bassinet in the hospital, and then here she was 3 years old, going to bed in her big girl bed, saying prayers and singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to me...
Time really does fly...
This is love.
This makes my heart swell to overflowing.
This is what a daddy is.

I feel like time is just flying by. There is rarely...strike that...there is NEVER a dull moment around here. Just the babes alone are enough to keep us hopping, but then you add in housework (I am seriously drowning in laundry, and just when I think I have it caught up Ezra will poop or puke on his clothes, my clothes, and the bed clothes...) and with the nice weather, trying to get some stuff done around the house, it feels like Jay and I are constantly moving. But it is good, it's just all so good, we are loving our new family and watching how the babes all interact and are adjusting to each other, and for the most part everyone is good.
Annalee is still the little mama, she wants to be the one to take care of Ezra, if she hears him crying she'll say "Mom, I'll go get her" (she's having trouble with when to use him/her...lol) Of course she can't actually get him, so she has had to revert to being her yah-yah's mama, and we have found her pretending all over the house!
Here she has put yah-yah in the bouncy seat with a blankie and a toy, how sweet is that??

And here she's pushing pink yah-yah and blue yah-yah around in the double stroller....

And here she apparently thought yah-yah needed a nap in Ezra's bed...

It has been a a lot of fun to watch her pretending these days, and I really can't believe she's going to be 3 in less than 2 weeks...sigh...
Jude is a mess...he is the sweetest and most cantankerous child all at the same time. He is at a frustrating age. He really wants to communicate, but doesn't have enough words in his vocabulary to do so with much success, so he's frustrated and then I'm frustrated...
And he is really working on becoming more and more independent. He is insisting on feeding himself for the most part, so the other night we had tacos, and his is just basically a taco bowl, no shell...and so we let him feed himself...it was MESSY! But he did really good...

and he was so super proud of himself!

He Really wants to interact with Ezra, but just isn't really sure how, he tries to share things with him like cookies...I find crumbs on Ezra a lot...
And his toys...here are the alphabet letters from the fridge...

and basically any random object he can find around the house...

and he is seriously going to think the baby's name is "Gentle", because that's what we say anytime he gets near him!
And as for little Ezra, he is so sweet and still rarely cries, he loves to stare at us and I'm sure there will be a smile coming any day now.
But for now he does a lot of this...

and this...

and some of this...

and occasionally this...

so like I said...it's busy, but good busy...
Baby Ezra Jack Scott made his way into the world on Feb 25th 2010 at 2:35 pm. He weighed in at 9 lbs 2 oz and 21.5 in.

We were supposed to go the hospital that morning at 5 am for an induction, being 3 days overdue. However at about 1 am Jude woke up throwing up, the norovirus had hit our household. He threw up about every 15 min until 5 am. I called the ped, I called my doc and I called the hospital and no one could tell me if it was ok or even recommended to continue with the induction, so I canceled it. Jude was finally resting and Jay and I got a couple of hours in, and we decided that since we already had all the childcare lined up, to go ahead with the induction.
We got to the hospital at about 9:30 am. At 10 am Dr. Keith came in and broke my water, and I was at 4 cm. Whooppee, I thought it would go fast from there, since both of my other 2 did... Around 11 they started pitocin and I started getting more regular contractions, so I went ahead and asked for the epidural. Definitely not the most fun part of the birth, but I choose it over labor pains! The doc came in and did it, it didn't take long before I was laying down and waiting for it to take effect. At this point Jay decided to go down and get some lunch. Suddenly I realized everyone talking to me sounded like they were in a tunnel, and my hands were going numb. I told the nurse and she saw that my blood pressure had dropped to 62/30. They got me a cold cloth and the anesthesiologist gave me some other drug and it started correcting itself. By the time Jay was back, I was almost back to normal.
Around 12:30 I started feeling pressure and thought I had made some progress, but the nurse checked me and I was still just a little more than 4 cm...turns out it was my epidural was not working the way it should, and I was just feeling pain from the baby moving down with the contractions. So we called the anesthesiologist back in and he moved the catheter out a bit and thought that would do it. It didn't an hour later the pain was worse, but my only other option was to have him redo the whole thing. No thank you! I just decided to deal with it.
The doc came in to check me at 2 pm and said I was a 6-7! Yippee!! Finally real progress. At this point my sister Angie said "Maybe you'll have that baby before I have to leave at 2:25 to pick up the kids" I told her no way...
A few minutes later I was feeling even more pressure, nurse checked again, and I was 9!! Whoo Hoo! They call the doc back in and I am beginning to tell them I need to push!
Seriously, the epidural did not work right. I could not feel my legs or any pain in my belly, but I could feel everything else, and I was very aware of needing to push. I pushed through one contraction and some of his head was out. Then Dr. Keith had me wait and breath so I could stretch on my own...absolutely excruciating! Then she had me make little pushed until his head was all the way out.
Then through the next contraction I tried to push out his shoulders...it didn't work, the nurse had to get up on the bed and push down on my belly to get him out.
At 2:35 pm Ezra was born to amidst my screams and sighs of relief! He was completely blue and had barely uttered a sound when they handed him to me for just a minute and then took him to be rubbed down and get a little oxygen. He was just fine, it just took him a few minutes to figure out what he was supposed to do.He is absolutely beautiful, and sweet. We are already completely in love! Annalee keeps calling him "her" baby, and Jude seems relatively unfazed by this new edition, other than just wanting to grab him all the time, so we have to be careful of that.
