At 10:45, I got up to go to the bathroom, as you often do when you're that pregnant, and I prayed almost jokingly, as I had done a million times a day for a couple of weeks "Lord please just let my water break so I don't have to wonder if I'm actually going into labor"...and guess what...it did! Whoo Hoo!!
I yelled out "Jay! My water just broke!!" We were both completely freaked and just wandered around the house for a few minutes not really sure what to do!! Eventually we got phone calls made and my mom and Andie came to stay with Annalee, and we headed to the hospital. Still no real contractions, just some uncomfortableness in my back...but I was scared they would start and me with no medication anywhere in sight!!!
We got to the hospital around midnight, and of course they had to put me in the pretend room, where they see if you're just over anxious or really in labor...an hour later and a half later, they tell me yes in fact I am in labor...DUH
Another hour later we get our own room and contractions are really beginning, and since it's the middle of the night the on call doc doesn't want to come in, so he says no pitocin, but I can have my epi!! Yippee! I'm only a 4, and it is now almost 4am, so we are hoping to get some sleep before anything real happens...
Got the epi, but it ain't great, can still feel a lot on the left side, and there is no resting in between contractions...I keep hitting the button to make sure I have absolutely as much medicine as possible...still not working...they roll me over for a little while, still didn't help...so after complaining to the nurse again, she decided she should check me...and check me, and check me, she is in disbelief, because I went from 4-10 in less than an hour...Did the same with Annalee, but thought it probably had to do with the pitocin...
Well it is now about 5 am and I am full and ready to go! But we had to wait on the doc, thank goodness for that epi!!
At 5:45 am little jude ame into this world, 9 lbs even 21 inches long and with a little bruised up face...
