Her Socks

Annalee is a great sleeper, since she was 3 mo's old I have been able to just take her to her crib and put her down and she goes to sleep.  The phenomenon is what goes on between that time and when she actually falls asleep...lately I have discovered that she has a little routine.  She has become very attached to her things, her comforter, her elephant pillow, at least one baby, her lovie and a lovie for her lovie...anyway, she must have these items when she goes to bed, but it seems they are really only there to enertain her until she's ready to sleep...because she systematically throws each and every one out except her lovie...the babies are soft with big plastic heads and I can hear each one as they hit the ground, and I know she's getting ready to go to sleep...anyway to the point of the post...

Most nights Annalee wears fleece, footed pajamas to bed.  We like it cooler at night so I want her to be warm...anyway, sometimes it's warmer, or (what is usually the case these days) they are all dirty, and I put her in regular pajamas...no feet, so i put socks on her to keep her little tootsies warm...well, without fail these socks become part of her routine, I even walked in on her working to get them off one night, and let me tell you it is hard for her to remove her socks, and she works at it like nobody's business, and once she gets one off, she throws it out, and then works and works to get the other one off...what amazes me about this is where and how she throws them...somehow in the pitch black darkness of her room she throws them in the exact same place everytime!  Every time I go to check on her before I go to bed, and see those to socks lying as neatly side by side as though she just laid them down...I just giggle...
