I have a Big Kid...

I really can't believe that I have a 5 year old.  It was a lot harder than I thought it would be to accept that.  I couldn't help but remember that tiny baby that made me a mommy and her first wobbly little steps at just 9 mo's old, how independent she was even from the beginning...I spent several weeks getting teary eyed every time I looked at my almost 5 year old, think of all that had passed, and the little lady she is becoming.  Even though I dreaded it, the birthday came anyway, and we celebrated and celebrated, and then celebrated some more!

On her birthday she woke up to streamers and balloons and a birthday banner, and we spent the whole day honoring her special day, daddy came home early from work and we went to get her big surprise, a FISH! Recently some friends gave us a small tank and ever since she saw it that's all she could talk about and so she was thrilled when we got to the pet store and told her what we were doing.  here she is with Carla after we got home and got her all set up....

We had her very first friend party on Saturday, a cowgirl party at a horse farm!  She had a blast and was so excited to finally wear her Jessie costume! They got to have cake and ice cream and then they got to see baby lambs and goats, and to feed chickens, and even pet a chicken, and then feed goats, one of which was very great with child (s?) and pet a baby cow.  Then we moved on to the ponies, where they learned some horse safety and how to brush them, and they all got a chance to actually do this, and then finally they got to ride them!

The day before the party trying out the costume. ( Pay no attention to the nakey boy)

The night before at like 11:30 when I FINALLY finished the cake!!

Lots of friends and party fun!!

It is entirely possible that Ezra had more fun than anyone else there, he was definitely the dirtiest, so if dirt = fun, then he won that one...

Petting the chicken!  She was very soft and very calm, they said she has been held daily since she was a chick and loves people!

 Annalee riding Buttons!

All the kiddos waiting very patiently for their turn..

It was all so much fun, and I **think** I am over my sadness about it, so far 5 has been awesome, I really think she matured over night, and has been a sweet and thoughtful little ma'am ever since...I imagine this will end any second...
